It’s the second last weekend of June, or the Summer Solstice, so it is time for the annual Fetes de la Musique, or music festivals. There are music festivals all across Geneva and Vaud (worldwide actually) on these longest days of the year.
For us in Western Switzerland, we have a full weekend of music to look forward to in Geneva, with several venues across the city, both on Rive Droite and Gauche. In Vaud, Nyon has its fete on Saturday. This free event has seven different stands across the city. Gland is also hosting a fete de la musique on Saturday at the Mauverney, Grand-Champ and Perrerets locations. Rolle too often has a fete de la musique on Saturday, near the Casino de Rolle. Morges too has a large event all day Saturday.
In fact most of the larger towns in Western Switzerland are doing something this weekend to celebrate music and the summer solstice. Most likely you and your family can just go for a stroll into town and you’ll hear the music playing. And if the weather forecast is to be believed, it’ll be a sunny and warm weekend — perfect.
